…And one who should be famous.

Author Sam Whitfield and I were guests on the “And I Quote” Podcast talking James Bond and Clarence J. Mahoney. Who is Clarence J. Mahoney, you ask? He’s the protagonist of Len Levinson‘s The Sergeant series of war novels.

So first I have to mention an embarrassment that really bothers me. While noting that the cover artist of the new Sergeant E-Book covers got the character’s chevron wrong, I then got it wrong myself, calling it a staff sergeant insignia when it is clearly a Sergeant First Class/Platoon Sergeant chevron. Brainfarts like this are one of many reasons I would avoid livestream appearances if that wasn’t a crucial marketing tactic these days.

When it was my turn to talk Bond, I had another brainfart. After “Goldfinger,” one of my favorite Bond movie themes is “A view to a Kill.” Totally slipped my mind and missed charting on my Top Bond Song List.
